I need your stuff!

Blog-followers:

I need you for Christmas gifts this year!

If you are an adoptive family (or know one) who is selling stuff to raise money for your adoption, please post the link!

I'm looking for items specifically that non-adoptive folks would use and wear (such as necklaces, jewelry, scarves, books, decor, etc.)

Thanks!!! We're hoping to support adoptions this year with our Christmas gift purchases!

P.S. We'll post your family's link in a future blog post so that others wishing to shop for Christmas can support your adoption as well!

What a great idea! My daughter is knitting hat's and matching scarves and a matching sweet purse to help raise money for her plane ticket over to Ethiopia when we go to receive our kiddos. She has made them for both adults and children. She puts a sweet button closure on the purse with a theme~fairy, strawberry shortcake, horse, hearts and for adults she does a neat button that matches the fancy soft yarn that she uses. I can send you some pictures if you're interested. Email me at Heart2Home@aol.com We both also do bracelets and earrings and Mother daughter items to help raise money for our Ethiopia fund. Nothing as wonderful as Tracy with Junk Posse...she is amazing! Email me if you're interested and I can send over some pictures.

We are still working on a small debt from our Russian adoption and are working towards pursuing adoption from the U.S. next(starting home study next week).

I sell Usborne Books (for children). Our blog is www.russianblessings.wordpress.com and the direct link to my catalog/usborne shopping site is long: http://www.myubam.com/ecommerce/main.asp?sid=R2952&gid=80040156&HID=HOS145877. I have another way to access it but that site is being worked on right now.

You can reach me at my email heatherlbrandt (at) verizon (dot) net if you have questions.

I also sell Arbonne but that info. (because I don't pay the fee for an Arbonne web site people have to buy through the regular Arbonne site using my Consultant ID) is accessible on our blog at www.russianblessings.wordpress.com. (on the right side).

Thanks so much,

Heather

What a wonderful, wonderful idea! I wish I had been more creative with my 3 Liberian adoptions, instead I just have a big loan! When we start our Ethiopian adoptions, I will figure some way other than DEBT! I will be shopping with your comment section as well!

Great idea Heidi! Please post if you get any other than the comments here. I plan to do the same thing, only buy if it is helping someone else out. Thanks.

I had also thought of shopping the same way this season. :) My friend, Kendra, has a great ministry. Here site is http://www.sugarplumorphans.com/ and all proceeds go toward orphans. She donated a bunch to our adoption, so we are very appreciative of her heart for the orphan!

Hi Heidi- I was wondering if you could post what you use on your children's hair. I have 4 from Ethiopia and have been trying to get opinions. I understand that not everyone's hair is alike, but your daughters' hair always looks beautiful!!

We are starting the process of adoption soon and are looking for ways to raise the money. We have 4 kids under 4 and my husband makes 65,000. Looking for ways to raise it and trying to live simply and do what God is calling us to do. You guys rock and we love your family. We are not crafty in any way though! Thanka for helping and putting this out there. Love to you! The Funks.

We are in the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia. Tim and I are part of the African Adoption Fellowship Group, and I met you at one of the fellowships.
A friend that has a stationery business is helping us raise funds for our adoption. She is taking orders from Oct.25-Nov.7 and the proceeds will go towards the adoption. She can email anyone interested an online catalog if you email her at keepintouchstationery@gmail.com. She has some really cute personalized notecards and notepads, photo Christmas cards, bag tags, birth announcements and baby and wedding shower announcements.

Thanks for sharing this,
Jo Franklin

My name is Jessica and we are adopting two sisters from Ethiopia age 3 and 5 years. We recently switched agencies after hearing God's call to adopt these girls from another agency's waiting child list. Our dossier is in country now and we hope to travel at the beginning of next year-waiting on a court date. Because our time frame has been moved up significantly with their referral, we are now trying to scramble to raise money for expenses that we thought we would not have for at least 12 more months. We have applied for a grant and are also involved with the One Love Coffee Company adoption fundraiser. The grand opening for this company is Monday the 26th. I'll have information on my blog steadfastminds-ethiopia.blogspot.com as soon as the site officially launches on Monday. Our family will have a store front and we get $5 for every bag of coffe that is sold (bags are around $12 a piece). We're excited to see what God will do! Your site is an inspiration!! Thank you.

I'm inspired by your idea for Christmas presents. What a great message it sends to those who receive them, and what a great blessing for those trying to fund an adoption!

Our family is in the process of adopting siblings from Ethiopia. My daughters are doing weaving in hopes of raising the airfare to bring home their new siblings. They can weave purses, scarves, pillows, placemats, and coasters. If you would like to choose colors that is possible too, just let us know.

hi! what a great idea! what I do not use for my own adoption fees, I donate to organizations that care for orphans and share the love of Jesus with them. This site does not mention my personal adoption because we are only in the early stages and have yet to make the big announcement until we've gotten through the first bit. hopefully around christmas! don't want to spoil the surprise as i will be sharing this site with family as well! :) i had been selling via facebook but your post prompted me to make an official site!

i sew a variety of children's items as well as cute women's aprons! so excited that you are doing this! :)
